Tree stump removal

Can tree stumps be removed?

We offer the full package when it comes to tree work and this includes stump removal.  Stumps which are not removed following tree felling can become problematic as they can be unsightly, get in the way of lawn mowers, become a trip hazard or with some species they can re-sprout.   The most common way of removing stumps is by using a stump grinder.  When stump grinding in Edinburgh and other built up areas we know that many underground utilities may exist so we check the area using CAT Scanners prior to removing stumps to ensure there are no service strikes.

Stump grinding in Edinburgh

Stump grinding leaves a fine mixture of wood chip and soil which provides a great organic mulch that can be spread around the garden or to provide a good foundation for replacement tree planting.  Smaller stumps or dead stumps can also be dug out with hand tools. Contact our team today to find out which method would be the most effective way for removing your stump.

We have numerous sizes of stump grinder which allows us to remove big stumps quickly and effortlessly.  Our small stump grinders allow access into narrow spaces or when our heavier machines may be unsuitable for transporting over delicate slabs.  Wherever the stump and whatever the situation we are able to find the most suitable solution for your needs.

'We hired TreeTonic to remove trees and stumps prior to building extension works at a popular Hotel in Edinburgh. Greg and the TreeTonic team were very professional throughout the contract and completed the agreed works ahead of schedule and undertook additional work at no added cost.  Greg was clear and transparent throughout the contract and informed our site manager of his teams progress on a daily basis. TreeTonic showed great skill and experience in their work when dealing with some difficult trees which were overhanging buildings and utilities. We wouldn't hesitate to use TreeTonic again for future projects.’

Can TreeTonic work on large scale sites?

We were recently involved in site clearance works for the extension of a major hotel chain in Edinburgh which involved the removal of 28 trees and stumps to allow the construction work to commence. We used CAT scanners to identify the position of underground utilities to avoid service strikes before carrying out the work.

In just 2 days our expert tree and stump removal team removed all 28 stumps leaving the site clear of obstructions and allowed building work to proceed.
